At MMH Hospital, we're here to support you through every beautiful and challenging moment of your pregnancy journey. Here’s
how we help you prepare for the arrival of your little one.
Confirmation of Pregnancy
Seeing your baby’s heartbeat on the ultrasound is an unforgettable moment—it’s the confirmation that your pregnancy
is progressing well. From here, your baby will begin to grow, and it’s crucial to follow your doctor's advice carefully.
Medical Advice and Supplements
Regular consultations with your doctor are vital. We’ll guide you on taking folic acid tablets to ensure your baby’s healthy
development. Please avoid any medications without consulting us first, and be sure to attend monthly check-ups to keep everything on track.
Ultrasound and Check-ups
Routine Ultrasound: We recommend an ultrasound every 45 days, or as advised by your doctor, to monitor your baby’s growth.
11 Weeks: At this stage, you’ll have an NT (nuchal translucency) ultrasound and a double-marker blood test. These are important
to assess the risk of Down syndrome and other major syndromes. Following this scan, we’ll likely prescribe iron and calcium supplements,
along with any other necessary medications.
20 Weeks: An anomaly ultrasound is done to check for major abnormalities. Our experienced team will provide reassurance and guidance
throughout this crucial check.
Ongoing Monitoring: Continue taking all prescribed supplements and schedule ultrasounds every 6 weeks. If there are any concerns,
we may suggest more frequent monitoring to ensure everything is progressing smoothly.
Preparation for Delivery:
Once you hit 37 weeks, labour can start at any moment. It’s time to prepare for your baby’s arrival. Engage in daily walks, eat
healthy and natural foods, and practice yoga and meditation to support your body and mind.
At MMH Hospital, we offer antenatal exercise and yoga sessions to help you stay active and relaxed. Our team is dedicated to
providing the support you need, every step of the way.
Together, we’ll make sure you and your baby are well cared for as you prepare to welcome new life into the world.
